Our Farewell April 18, 2010

This last weekend we had a great time at home with our family. We were able to see each one before we left officially for our mission. We spent the week before in the MTC doing our welfare humanitarian training. This week we are doing Preach My Gospel training. They have both been very informative and even though they are very intensive they have been enjoyable. We came to the MTC early so that we could get to Guyana and meet with the Whiteheads. We were in class on Tuesday morning and were called out to see Elder and Sister Whitehead standing in the foyer. They had to come home early because Sister Whitehead had a detached retina and had to be flown home for treatment. It was quite a surprise but we had a good visit and they gave us some good information. The more I learn about our mission the more I realize that we will have to live close to our Heavenly Father so we can have the direction of the Holy Ghost to direct us. We will be spending sacred funds and must be very careful that this money is spent the way the Lord wants it to be spent to help the people in the West Indies. There seems to be a great need among many different people and organizations. We are excited to get there and get our feet wet. We wanted to say how much we appreciated all that everyone has done to help us get on our way. We appreciate all love and support from everyone as well. We love you all. Mom and Dad.

  1. Wow, I bet that was a surprised to see them standing at the MTC. Hopefully you will be able to learn enough this week to help you when you get there. We already miss you! We love you!
